One hell of a show!

I'm surprised at Gratefulnumb's review of what was for me a thoroughly satisfying show. It was hot, sure, but I was dancing my ass off so who cares? I dont know what was shady, maybe it was just him/her. I cannot comment on the recording yet,but in person, I felt that this show was fantastic. Deal smoked and seethed. The piano and guitar were hot. Half-Step- ditto. I was up front and the crowd up there was SO Much fun. We were singing at the top of our lungs. Deep Elem was awesome. First set highlight for me was Cumberland Blues. Maybe you had to be there, but Nah. Listen to this one and you'll wish you had been right next to me shakin your thang! The jams were so, so sweet. Streaming Deal right now,damn the jams rock out! How could you not love this show? I haven't even gotten to the second set yet! I was drenched from head to toe from sweating, I was boggieing! You might even remember me as the wild dancer with the brown Hendrix shirt. There weren't too many people there overall. Second set-what can I say? Magnificent. china cat-rider with alot in between. Eyes, St. stephen-Yes! Mountains of the Moon sounded like Pink Floyd, and I mean that in the best way possible! Golden Road, Sugar Mag. Tom Thumbs, dude, smokin. I couldn't make it to Sat or Sun I cant wait to hear 'em! BTW- Phil looked great, smiling real big and having a great time. If only I could bottle up this four hours of my life!

This was one of the worst Phil Shows I've seen in a long time. but between the heat and the very SHADY feeling in the air Phil and his wonderful friends aren't to blame they were just playing to the mood. They more than made up for it on Saturday and (Holy Cow!) Sunday Sunday Sunday oh what a Sunday.

didnt see this one. saw k.c. 10/03. most reviews are glowing that i have read. i dont need to see another great show from phil, the fact that he will be 70 next year is what amazes me. not this current pedestrian band. extremely competent(yes) but pale by comparison to warren jimmy and rob. but thats ok. like i thats ok. i support phil because he is phil. i would like to hear their cover of boz scagggs #loan me a dime#

All 3 nights were fantastic, well worth the terrible heat.

This was a really fun show, thanks for making it available. The mix sounds great on this recording, better than I remember it being from my vantage point on the floor. I'll listen to this lineup any day, even in unbearable heat :)

I ran up in the front row of the balcony. It came out very good! Shawn also ran next to me DFC. I gave him my 2 channels and he ran a 4 channel Schoeps source that kicks ass! He will be putting it up soon.

As for the section, it was tough because of all the wooks that paid to get in and talked throughout the entire show. why bother coming and ruining the recording for the folks that put out the effort? Kudos to everyone that taped downstairs!

This is the chattiest recording I have heard in a long time. . More than I like but a fundamentally good recording. Hopefully an FOB 24 bit will surface with some quiet people around.

I also recorded in the section this night. Mine and this are both decent, but there were about 6 guys who were set up in the front of the balcony. Shawn Smith drove back to Indy after the show last nigt. I'll be grabbing his from the whole run.

I was there for the Friday and Saturday shows. Haven't heard this one yet, but I know about the sound. You were only allowed to set up mikes in front of the main bar on the lower level, which was even with the stage and in front was the mosh pit where hundreds packed it in. There was a low ceiling over the tapers' gear. The mikes HAD to have picked up a lot of talk. If you went up to the second level where the G.A. seats were, (the place had been an old movie theater at one time), not only could you see great but you could hear BETTER. I was standing stage right, Jackie's side, and it was O.K. during the first sets, but upstairs you could hear his guitar & keys so much better. I mentioned this to a taper second night, and was told about the prohibition of setting up the gear there. So, there you go. Killer shows, both nights, and if the sound here doesn't suit you, d/l another venue. Can't miss with any nights on this tour.

A bit harsh, ay? Really judgmental reviews usually come from people who don't contribute anything.

A lot of time and effort and $ went into this recording, I'm sure. It's a good recording and not the tapers fault if the crowd paid lots 'o money to ignore the band and have a cocktail party. Thanks!

This was a sweet show. I was in the front row for this one the whole show, and it was amazing. Jackie Green blew me away on guitar, harmonica, keyboards and vocals. Opening with deal and then Half-step both well done, musically and vocally. The best was the China/rider Sandwich medley to finish it up. Amazing show.

i cant wait for the c ville show this is a great new sound:))))
